30 Day Blog Challenge, Day 11. If I Won A Million Dollars

If i won a million dollars! That would be the day! At times i imagine how those who have won lotteries usually act when they realize they have won money they may not able to make in their lifetime.

Do they dance  at home? Go crazy a bit? Get overwhelmed? Feel it is surreal? I imagine one would go through a myriad of emotions in the spate of a second on hearing the news!

What would i do? Like seriously guys. What would you do? Tell me so i can write it on this blog post! Lol.

How would i feel? I think i might go crazy a bit. That’s a given. No, i don’t know. Will i? I might get overwhelmed. A bit i think.

Would i dance? Yeah right i will. This i am very certain of. I love dancing and any and every thing that puts me in a happy mood, makes me dance. For someone who dances for one hour every other day alone at home, you bet i will dance if i am told i won a million dollars.

On a more serious note, what would i do if i won a million dollars? Since i have to answer this question on day 11 of the 30 day blog challenge, i have to dive right into it!

Pay Off My Debts

Of course this should be priority number one. I don’t have student loans to pay off. Thank goodness! I come from a country where we don’t get student loans  and grants from the government. You pay your way through school. No handouts. Has it advantages and disadvantages of course.

Well, i am 99% debt free so paying off my debt will be an easy breezy thingy to do if i won a million dollars.

Buy A Home

I don’t own a home yet. What i do have are lands to build on. So it is either i buy or build one. Having my own home will save from having to pay rent. Rent is one of the things that eat into your savings and salary because it is unavoidable if you don’t own a home.

This here babe, don’t intend paying rent till she gets old lol. So yes, buying/building a home for myself is something i would definitely do if i win a million dollars!

Start An NGO 

A worthy cause very dear to my heart is caring for the less privileged. I have always been drawn to orphanages. The thought of anyone suffering, not having enough to eat has always been a cause of concern to me even from when i was kid.

So starting an NGO is on top the list if i won a million dollars. I would build an  orphanage, hire staff and bring in people from the streets. There are just too many homeless people across the globe and society needs to do more about it.

Build A Skills Acquisition Center

I was home a couple of years before i got a job after graduating. Not for want of trying or being “selective” but because they were simply no jobs to be had.

This is the fate suffered by lots of Nigerian graduates. That is where a skills acquisition center comes into play.

Learning some other essential skills could even mean becoming an entrepreneur! The time that one would spend at home waiting for a job to come by, could be used to get some skills and if a 9 to 5 job is your thing, you do it before the job comes.

This is definitely something i would do if i won a million dollars.

Invest!

What’s the good of winning all that money if you can’t “make it make more money”? Of course i have to invest and get more money. If i am going to build orphanages, feed the poor and all that, i need money to sustain it, right?

So i will have to invest a part of the money to bring in even more money. I like real estate. So will invest in that. If i won a million dollars (lol don’t get it twisted, the question is if i won a million dollars hahahahaha). But seriously though, win a million dollars or not, real estate is something i will surely invest in.

Go On A Shopping Spree!

If i didn’t mention going on a shopping spree, i’d be lying through my teeth lol. If you have been following my blog, you will know that i love fashion and love looking good! What use will it be if i won a million dollars and don’t go on a shopping spree?

That would make me a dull girl and Jennifer is not dull! I won’t go crazy on this, doncha worry lol!

Go On A Cruise!

One of the things on My Bucket List before i turn 50, is to go on a cruise! Yeah right. If you don’t think going on a cruise should be on your bucket list (well for those of us that haven’t been), think again!

All those exciting things to see and do aboard a cruise ship, i definitely want to experience it!

I take boat rides sometimes to oil field locations on small boats they call Passport 19. I enjoy the rides even though there is nothing glamorous (sigh) about the boats and i can’t play dress up (hehehehehe).

So imagine how it will be like going on a cruise people! I know you feel me.

Well,

It looks like my one million dollars is almost gone! I better go start playing the lottery!!!

After writing this post, i am seriously going to take playing the lottery seriously. Who knows? I might get lucky. I will sure let you guys know when i do win!
