It is very easy to let your Sunday fly by, by doing virtually nothing because you are dreading the coming week. I absolutely get it because I have a love-hate relationship with Mondays (like you) so much so, I did a satirical and very hilarious piece about that you will absolutely love reading.

When Friday comes, it doesn't matter how it comes. Blazing, raining hail and sleets, snowy and everything in between. We don't care. It is the big Friday party.

We crash the clubs, have a girls night out. Binge on Netflix. Go shopping on Saturdays and then hoping to get some sleep on Sundays.

Sunday comes,  and we realize that we haven't done shit! We realize that there are like 101 things to do, prepare or carry out for the coming week.

That is why having productive habits to adopt on Sundays can help us. A. LOT.

And that is why we have to adopt productive Habits That Will Completely Transform Our Lives!

The urge to sleep in is great on Sundays. Yes, it is ideal to sleep in but when you carry out these 10, trust me, an early night is in the cards and you get to wake up refreshed and supercharged!

1. Go Shopping. For Groceries

I have found that when I go shopping for groceries during the week on my way from work, it is very tiring and I end up buying some unhealthy food items simply because they are quick to make and I didn't plan very well.

But when I go grocery shopping during weekends, there is a 99% chance that I am armed with a list of what to buy.


To have an amazing week, go grocery shopping. It will save you the headache and extra effort it will take having to do it during a weekday.

2. Plan Your Meals & Prep Them

One other productive habits to adopt on Sundays for an amazing week would be planning your meals for the week and then prepping them.

Imagine having all your meal for a week sitting pretty in the refrigerator. Just a matter of taking it out, popping in the microwave or eating as is! 

Your week will thank you for it and stress will be greatly reduced from having to prepare meals either before going to work or after work hours.

3. Plan Your Outfits

Oh. This one. This one! What now, you say? 

There is this crazy week, just about every outfit I wanted to wear, just didn't suit. No matter the combination I used. Changing a belt, a camisole, shoes, etc. None worked.

Who else has had days like that?

Then I arrive at work. Feeling hassled, rattled, disgruntled, unhappy and every tiny bit of negative emotion in between. You all know what that means. A bad day! 

So I learned my lesson. I plan my outfits otherwise it will be an Oh No kinda day.

If you want to have an amazing week, trust me, planning your outfits for the week ahead is one very good productive habit to adopt on Sundays.

Pick out every single outfit for each day of the week on a Sunday. That way, you'll know if there is a missing button you may need to fix (instead of discovering it the day you want to wear it) if there is a tear in your hose (so you replace it or select something else), a broken zip, etc.

4. Plan Your Week

You can never go wrong with planning. Planning your week is a great productive habit to develop. Something to carefully do on a Sunday so as to have a great week.

The tasks you need to carry out for the week, errands you need to run, meetings you have to attend and everything you need to do during the coming week, plan them on a Sunday.

That way, you don't leave any detail out or forget an important thing.

Ideally, your Monday tasks at the office should have already been written down on a planner (work planner), sticky note, etc.

5. Schedule Your Important Tasks

Scheduling your important tasks for the week on a Sunday will save you a lot of stress and lead to having a super amazing week.

You schedule, get them done and that feeling of accomplishment that comes with completing a task is second to none.

6. Write Out Your To Do List

I can't begin to count the number of times I forget to write down an idea or something that I needed to do and then completely forgot. Even though I thought it was in my head.

Writing down your To Do list is one of the super productive habits to adopt on Sundays for having an amazing week.

Write it the list down, perhaps of what to do each day of the week. Tick them off one after the other on completion.

That way, having a great week is assured.

If you are planning to have an amazing week like I know you are, then do some basic house chores on Sundays. 

Clean, dust, do some laundry, declutter.

It will even bring out the CREATIVE side of you! 

8. Have A Massage

If you want a very relaxed and amazing week, then opt for massages on Sundays. 

I would give anything to have one right about now! 

Well, erm, not everything. But I do need a massage.

9. Journaling

Journaling is so big now and I see why it is because I have been practicing it and it is a good thing to do.

While this post may be talking about 10 super productive habits to adopt on Sundays for an amazing week, I felt adding Journaling is great.

Journaling does not have to be an every Sunday affair but writing in your journal about your thoughts and feelings from the previous week, will help you decipher a lot of things and put you in a better frame of mind for tackling the coming week.

I have been journaling on and off and it is a great idea. 

Get a journal for yourself and start journaling. 

It will help with boosting your self-confidence and esteem, relieve anxiety and the likes.

10. Have An Early Night! 

If after all said and done, you up and go sleep late at night, it'd be counterproductive.

Now, we don't want that. Do we?

    These are great tips! I do a lot of these things across Saturday and Sunday. The one thing I don’t do is planning outfits for the week. I definitely end up frantically looking for clothes in the dark each morning because I don’t.

    Wow, great list!! I have one to add. My husband and I sit down together on Sunday and talk about the past week. How things went, bad or good. We work through issues and help each other talk. Then we coordinate and plan our schedules for the next week. Talk about anything we’re worried about or excited for. It really helps us feel connected and we look forward to this check-in with one another.

    This is great. Very well thought out. The only thing I would add is for parents (I am single parenting 7 kids right now) is to go over the kids’ schedules for the week with each of them. I have a big whiteboard calendar with a row for each kid that has their weekly schedule. I fill it in on Saturdays, but make sure to go over the week with each child seperately.

    I totally agree that meal prep and planning your week are really important activities for the weekend. It makes the rest of the week so much more fun and productive.
